Connect Google Workspace
A read-only, auto-syncing directory connection for a client running Google Workspace or Cloud Identity.
What this does
Connecting grants Reconlio read-only access to the client's directory — the list of users and whether each is active or suspended. Reconlio never touches Gmail, Drive, Chat, or anything beyond that user list, and can't make changes to the account. This works the same way whether the client is on full Google Workspace or the free Cloud Identity edition — both use the same underlying directory.
Once connected, the first roster sync runs automatically and the roster re-syncs nightly after that. A manual Sync now is also available.
How to connect
- Open the client in Reconlio and choose to connect Google Workspace from its Integrations panel.
- Sign in with an account that can grant admin consent for the organization's directory.
- Review Google's permission screen — it will name the exact scope being requested (read-only directory access) before you approve anything.
- Approve. The first sync starts automatically.
If you don't have admin rights on the directory
Ask whoever administers the client's Google directory to use the same connect link instead — see Approving a connection request. They don't need a Reconlio account to approve it.
Prefer not to connect at all?
A directory connection is optional. Uploading a CSV roster works the same way for reconciliation — it just needs re-uploading by hand when the client's roster changes.
